My love story with cigars started hard and heavy, I felt cigars should be sizeable you see; I wasn’t smoking anything smaller than a Robusto.

That all changed on one busy, rather stressful day; I had an important meeting in just over an hour… And yet there was only one thing on my mind, I couldn’t shake it, I needed time to slow down, I needed some sweet release - after all, I more than deserved it.

Needless to say, it wasn’t long before I dashed off to Mount Street.

I entered Sautter and scanned my eyes over their merchandise - searching for a bite sized cigar of serious quality - something immediately caught my eye.

There lay a dark toned Figurado, with an all too familiar cigar band - Arturo Fuente, short story - what a name, I mean, simply phenomenal…

It’s self aware, not only that, it’s intentional, it knows what I am after; it was almost like it was made just for me in that very moment.

Could the cigar live up to its name? Or was it just a great piece of marketing? I was going to find out.

£19 - Take my money, right now, I’m all in.

I thanked the sommeliers and contently beelined it to my sanctuary.

I arrived.

Here we go…

I lit the teeny tiny end, and took my first draw…

Rich flavours of cacao and espresso flooded my senses, the smoke departing was much like saying goodbye to an old friend, after having just spent many magical hours together.

It was time treasured, made clear by the ending of it.

It was, dare I say… perfect?

As I put out the cigar, I knew one thing for sure… I would have many more short stories to come, but more importantly I was going to close this deal.

I walked into my meeting with a clear head, a tunnel visioned mission and the will to win; if the shoe fit, I would damn well make sure they wore it.

So yes, it lived up to its name, it was a short story indeed, one filled with flavour, excellence and inspiration.

A punchy story whose every part was meaningful, you would not have wanted to miss a second of it.

Small but mighty, the Arturo Fuente Short Story left a lasting impression.

O and that deal… I closed it.

Yours truly,

The Cigar Lover
